BRASS BAND EXTRAVAGANZA feat. Rowdy Brass Band, Tivoli Club Brass Band and Guerrilla Fanfare

Rowdy Brass Band

The Rowdy Brass Band is an elite CMU “ambassador” ensemble designed to train a 21st Century musician and meet the demand for high quality entertainment both on and off campus.  This 12-15 member ensemble performs custom arrangements in pop, rock, jazz, latin, ceremonial, fanfare, street, and other styles of music.  The band performs all music by memory and is highly mobile - to set-up quickly and perform anywhere!  The Rowdy Brass Band consists of CMU’s best (auditioned) brass, saxophone, electronic, and percussion student musicians who get real-world professional experience, including a large annual scholarship.  They rehearse weekly (MWF, 2:00-2:50pm) during the fall & spring semesters, preparing for performances from August through May. Dr. Hinkle leads, arranges music for, and also performs with the Rowdy Brass Band.

Tivoli Club Brass Band

It’s like a little bit-a’ green chile on yo’ boudin.

Denver’s most beloved brass band brings the tradition of the New Orleans Second Line to the Mile High. A Centennial State jambalaya of classic and contemporary hits, micro-brewed with the flavors that make Colorado the greatest state in the union. Featuring a veritable superband of who’s-who in Denver local music; musicians who’ve been playing this scene since before it existed, with bands like Furious George and the Monster Groove, Judge Roughneck, Sammy Mayfield Blues Revue, Money Plays 8, the Flobots, Til Willis, Bow Shock, Future Joy, FaceMan, Oxycodone, Alpha Schoolmarm Orchestra and dozens more.

Guerrilla Fanfare

Since its inception in 2015, the musicians of Guerrilla Fanfare have been dedicated to bringing the highest quality brass band music to life throughout Colorado and beyond. From fiery pop arrangements, to traditional jazz, to innovative original music, the mission of the band is to appeal to the audience and deliver a meaningful and positive performance that invigorates, excites and delights! Guerrilla Fanfare aims to bring levity and fun to any situation, and also to bring something for everyone to every performance. GuFa has engaged in some out of the box, and unexpected events over the years. As suggested by the name, this band will play any event from parties deep in the mountains, to surprise pop up events at the airport, to assemblies for an entire school, to parade marches downtown - and everything in between.

Recently, Guerrilla Fanfare performed in the Five Points Jazz Festival, as headliner to a City Park Jazz evening, as a featured artist with the CU “Golden Buffalo” Marching Band for halftime at Folsom Field, and many others. For every single one of the roughly one hundred performances Guerrilla Fanfare does each year, this collection of outstanding local Colorado musicians brings gratitude, passion and a mastery of their instrument to bedazzle every audience every time.
