ACCESSIBLE PARKING

There is limited parking for those with disabilities available on a first-come, first-served basis in the lot adjacent to the City Park Pavilion (see the map below). You must have a valid license plate, placard, or hang tag in order to access it. Please understand that there are a limited number of spaces available; we recommend arriving at least 90 minutes prior to showtime to have a better chance of securing a spot. There is a paved pathway from the lot to the pavilion plaza and down to the food truck row as well.

Drop-Off Information

For guests who need to be dropped off close to the event, the primary drop-off location is located north of the pavilion in the designated accessible parking lot. This area provides the most convenient access point for individuals with mobility needs or those who benefit from shorter walking distances.

Nearby, you’ll find ramped access points for safe and easy entry into the event area. These ramps are located close to some of the portable restrooms, including accessible units.

Event staff will be available in the area to assist with directions or mobility-related questions. We ask that vehicles using the drop-off zone move promptly to parking after assisting their passengers to help keep the area clear and safe for others.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS

Beginning in 2022, City Park Jazz introduced ASL interpreters to our programming lineup for every show. These amazing people brought a level of intricate performance quality to the stage, ehnacing our programming for those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Our ASL team is provided by FLOW Performance Sign Language Interpreters.

Wheelchair Accessibility

We strive to make our event welcoming and accessible for all guests, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

There are viewing areas near the pavilion that offer good sightlines to the stage while remaining set back from major walkways to help minimize crowd congestion and ensure a more comfortable experience. These spots are on level ground and are intended to provide better visibility and ease of movement for wheelchair users and their companions.

While the event is held outdoors in City Park, most primary paths and open areas are accessible via paved or compacted surfaces. Please note that weather conditions may affect terrain in some grassy areas.

Accessible Portable Restrooms

Accessible portable restrooms are available at the event. These units are designed to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices, providing additional space, ground-level entry, and grab bars for safety and support.

Accessible restrooms are located in the handicap parking lot north of the pavilion and along the food truck path south of the pavilion. Signage will be posted, and staff or volunteers can help direct you to the nearest unit if needed.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at the event in accordance with ADA guidelines. Individuals with disabilities may bring their trained service animals to all areas where guests are allowed.

We recommend that service animals wear appropriate identifying gear (such as a vest or harness) and remain leashed or under control at all times. Handlers are responsible for the care and behavior of their animals throughout the event.

The event takes place outdoors in City Park, so please plan accordingly for your animal’s comfort, including bringing water and waste bags. We ask that all guests clean up after their animals and dispose of waste properly.

Water

A free water cart will be available to help guests stay hydrated throughout the event. The cart is located in front of the pavilion, easily accessible from the main event area. All guests are welcome to refill their personal water bottles at the cart.

If you need assistance reaching the cart or require help carrying water, please don’t hesitate to ask a staff member or volunteer—they’ll be happy to help.

Sensory Friendly Areas

While there are no designated sensory-friendly areas at this event, the layout of City Park offers plenty of opportunities to find quieter, less stimulating spaces. Guests who may need a break from the music, crowds, or general sensory input are welcome to explore the open areas away from the stage and main pavilion.

Some suggested areas include behind the pavilion, along the lake shore, and back into the park.

Information Tent

Our Accessibility committee is available to answer questions, assist with navigation, or take feedback during the duration of each show. Please visit us at the City Park Jazz tents located on the pavilion.
