Front of House Production Intern

City Park Jazz Denver is a non-profit organization dedicated to producing free jazz concerts for the community in the beautiful setting of City Park, Denver. With a mission to celebrate jazz music and cultivate a vibrant cultural scene, we host weekly concerts during the summer months, featuring local and nationally recognized jazz artists.

Job Description:

City Park Jazz Denver is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House Production Intern to join our team for the upcoming summer season. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in event production, community engagement, and non-profit function within the dynamic world of arts and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Event Planning: Collaborate with the production team to plan and organize weekly jazz concerts, including logistical arrangements such as venue setup, equipment rental, and artist coordination.

  • On-site Support: Provide support during concert events, including setup, artist green room management, teardown, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the event duration.

  • Community Outreach: Engage with the local community to promote City Park Jazz events, distribute promotional materials, and facilitate connections with sponsors, vendors, and attendees.

  • Creative Input: Contribute creative ideas for enhancing the concert experience, attracting a diverse audience, and fostering a sense of community engagement.

Commitment

Production Meetings: 3rd Wednesday per month, April–September, 6:15 - 8 pm (video call or in-person)

Events: Every Sunday, 6/2–8/4, 3:00 pm, load out complete, usually but not always around 10 pm. May miss up to 2 events.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for music and enthusiasm for promoting cultural events within the community.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Proficiency in Google Drive and familiarity with social media platforms.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during concert events.

  • Must be currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant educational program (e.g., Arts Management, Event Planning, Communications, etc.).

Technical/Back of House Intern

With a mission to celebrate jazz music and foster a vibrant cultural environment, we host weekly concerts during the summer months, featuring both local and nationally recognized jazz artists.

Job Description:

City Park Jazz Denver is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Technical/Back of House Production Intern to join our team for the upcoming concert season. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in live event production and stage management within the dynamic realm of arts and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Stage Setup and Maintenance: Work alongside the stage manager and production team to set up and maintain stage equipment, including sound systems, lighting rigs, and instruments.

  • Load-In and Load-Out: Participate in the load-in and load-out process for each concert event, helping to transport and set up equipment efficiently and safely.

  • Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure working environment on stage, ensuring that all equipment is properly secured and that safety protocols are followed at all times.

  • General Assistance: Assist with various tasks as needed, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and other logistical duties related to stage operations.

Committment

  • Must be currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant program (e.g., Theatre Production, Audio Engineering, Event Management, etc.).
