Local jazz icons Hazel Miller, Ron Miles round out the list
DENVER — Now entering its 27th season and boasting around 100,000 attendees throughout the summer, City Park Jazz continues its tradition of highlighting some of the best jazz the Mile High has to offer.
Spanning 10 weeks across June, July and August, the collection of local musicians in this year's lineup also cross cultures, styles and genres in a way the reflects the diversity, both musically and culturally, of the city.
"Once again, we've put together a lineup we're really proud of," says Chris Zacher, president of the City Park Jazz Board of Directors. "We've got some of the household names jazz fans and local music fans have come to know and love, and some acts that are new to the City Park Jazz stage. From Latin to straight-ahead to blues to fusion, you'll be able to come to every single Sunday and see something completely different than the Sunday before."
The 2013 season begins June 2 and continues each Sunday night from 6-8 p.m. The free concerts are staged on the pavilion in City Park.
